Four steps from inventory list to shipment.

Selling IT equipment to TAR takes four steps: share inventory details, TAR reviews the equipment, both sides discuss commercial options, and logistics are arranged. There is no account to create, no portal to learn and no procurement cycle to wait for.

The process in detail

What happens at each step.

STEP 01

Share inventory details

Tell TAR what you have: equipment categories, approximate quantities, condition and how the material is packed. Photographs help, especially for storage media and displays. An estimate is enough — precision can come later.

STEP 02

TAR reviews the equipment

TAR evaluates which lines are commercially interesting, which should go to reuse, which to component recovery, and which have no viable route. You will be told which is which, including the lines TAR does not want.

STEP 03

Discuss commercial options

Arrangements are discussed individually, based on product category, shipment method, business history and mutual agreement. Terms are agreed between the two parties rather than taken from a published schedule.

STEP 04

Arrange logistics

Once both sides agree, shipment is coordinated — sea freight, air freight or road, depending on the equipment, quantity and origin. Packing requirements are agreed before anything moves.

Before you write

What to include in a first message.

Five things turn a vague enquiry into a useful reply. None of them require work you would not already have done.

  1. Categories — servers, drives, laptops, networking, components, mixed.
  2. Approximate quantities — units, pallets or weight. Estimates are fine.
  3. Condition — working, untested, faulty, mixed. Describe it honestly.
  4. Frequency — one-off, occasional, monthly, continuous.
  5. Origin and shipping — the country it ships from and how you expect it to travel.

Short answers to the questions that come up before a first shipment.

Selling questions

How do I sell surplus IT equipment to TAR?

Send an inventory description — categories, approximate quantities and condition. TAR reviews it, discusses commercial options with you individually, and arranges logistics if both sides agree. There are four steps and no account to create.

Do I need a formal inventory list?

No. A rough list is enough to start. A detailed list speeds things up, but TAR would rather see an approximate description early than wait for a perfect one.

Who arranges shipping?

It is agreed case by case as part of the commercial discussion, and depends on the equipment, the quantity, the origin country and the shipment method.

What if some of the equipment is not worth buying?

TAR will say so. It is more useful to both sides to identify that early than to ship material that has no route.

Can TAR handle mixed lots?

Yes. Mixed pallets and mixed conditions are the norm rather than the exception.
