Product category
Networking
Switches, routers, firewalls and the equipment around them — a category where working hardware regularly gets replaced for reasons that have nothing to do with whether it still works.
What this category covers

- Access, distribution and core switches
- Routers and edge devices
- Firewalls and security appliances
- Wireless access points and controllers
- Transceivers, modules and stacking cables
- Patch panels and structured cabling hardware
This list is a starting point. TAR also considers additional IT and electronic equipment outside the categories shown on this site — if you are unsure, ask.
Networking questions
Is used networking equipment worth selling?
Usually yes. Network hardware is often replaced on refresh cycles or after an architecture change rather than because of failure, so a large share of decommissioned switches and routers are fully working.
Does TAR buy transceivers and modules separately?
Yes, though they are generally worth more when supplied with the equipment they belong to.
What about configured devices?
Configuration is normal and expected. Reset devices where your policy requires it; TAR does not rely on receiving configured units.
